In May 1983, Rudolf Thurner founded the "LICHT Zentrale" on 300 square meters as a wholesaler and retailer of lighting fixtures, which was later supplemented by the field of electrical installation material. In 2004, the Würth Group took over "LICHT Zentrale Thurner GmbH" and has since been part of the Elektrogroßhandel business unit.
