Festival: Sexta no Galpão

“Stage Lighting,” the new course from EAD Sesc Digital, will be open to the public starting August 31, featuring content developed by Marisa Bentivegna across a series of six video lessons.

Interdisciplinarity has become a useful tool today for interpreting reality and offering alternatives that allow us to face and resolve the challenges confronting humanity, in a world where “all that is solid melts into air” (Berman, 1988). Hyper-connectivity and the speed of events allow us to stay informed and participate, in real time, in the occurrences of our time—such as violence, the environmental crisis, social crises, and migration—forcing us to confront these threats as individuals and as a community.

On Friday, September 16, the first debate on the war in Ukraine will take place, centered on the book ENSAIOS SOBRE A GUERRA Rússia Ucrânia (Essays on the Russia-Ukraine War), currently in production by the independent Brazilian publisher Kinoruss. The event is open to the public and will be held at the Galpão Comum space in São Paulo. It will feature Svetlana Ruseishvili (UFSCar), who contributed one of the book's essays, alongside organizers Bruno Gomide (FFLCH-USP) and Neide Jallageas (Kinoruss).

WHAT IS SEXTA NO GALPÃO?

This event seeks to bridge the dialogue between modern and industrial heritage—two relatively recent typologies that have yet to receive the necessary attention within our country's preservationist policy agenda. There is an increasing need to recover, discuss, and seek solutions for documenting and conserving modern industrial assets.

Alberto Cruz’s drawings are the clearest manifestation of his radical ideals regarding education and the colorful aesthetic he also captured in his architectural work.
