Pendulum lamps by Marianne Brandt and Hans Przyrembel. Between 1924 and 1928, Marianne Brandt designed – in addition to smaller articles for common use such as ashtrays, china, etc. – quite a number of table, wall and pendulum lamps, which were also manufactured industrially in this period. For reproducing the pendulum lamps we had access to old catalogs, with exact specifications, as weIl as to two old models, one from the collection in the Bauhaus Archives in Berlin. Both versions (shade diameter 300 or 500 mm) are available with or without the pulley system. HMB 25/300 Z Ni: With pulley and counterweight. Polished nickel plated aluminium. An elegant, timeless sofa. Absolutely unique, because it is enhanced with what we call movable “smart” cushions, pliable to preference with slight movements to satisfy any possible desire for comfort. The various elements, that can be combined with each other and are also available with different depths, allow to achieve linear, angular or curvy composition for any architectural requirement or any purpose, up to the "Absolu Large" version that has broader dimensions both in width and depth. The smart cushion is a brand - new concept of relax, it represents years of reflections, studies and technological research. The secret is inside, hidden to view but of immediate use. Joints in special materials allow you to shape it as you prefer: it can be pulled up or down, it can take the position that is most suitable to the purpose at that time, simply and effortlessly, thanks to a slight hand pressure. Whether as a backrest or as an armrest, through these hidden mechanisms that are true masterpieces of engineering, the smart cushion offers outstanding comfort and suits your idea of comfort. Tested simulating a continuous use of years , it is perfectly wear-proof: functionality and technology are combined to achieve the best comfort. The Smart Cushion is easy to move, use and shape into different positions: low, oblique, “bergère”, enveloping, high, for reading. A simple touch turns a classic sofa into a chaise longue. It can be moved into any socket of the backrest and armrest. A metal hubcup, embellished with special finishes, and an anchor bolt inserted in its socket ensure perfect insertion of the Smart Cushion. The cushion can be adjusted and reclined in every direction, with fluid movements that allow the discovery of new thresholds of comfort. A possibility offered by the joints, which are a real jewel of engineering and comfort. Edra has always been committed to technological research, and in 2004 patented Gellyfoam®, a next generation material that represents the most advanced reference point in terms of comfort. Gellyfoam® is a special foam that combines softness with support; it is unlike a spring that pushes back, but a material that will always welcome you in the best way. It offers superior comfort and relax. Gellyfoam® is an exclusive technology by Edra. We have put man, the highest wishes we all have about comfort and relax, at the centre, and every day we work towards that goal. Edra comfort is an extraordinary dimension of life, which can be presented in many different ways, but always at the highest level. Craftmanship is an essential working method to provide edra’s quality, the oldest and newest one, and it is through craftsmanship that knowledge is handed down: work is done according to a high-tech project, while thinking back to the good manual skills that have always existed here in Tuscany. The hands are the only way to provide the most excellent quality. The hands can sense, adapt, build, convey and achieve goals that machines simply cannot. An essential balance between technology and beauty, between reason and instant wonder. This is one of our values: passion, which creates the greatest quality. The one that belongs to our land, Tuscany, the heart of Italy, the one that gave the world the masterpieces of Renaissance At edra, fabrics and upholsteries are an integral part of any project, in engineering and aesthetic terms, not just trendy or colourful covers. Every product in the Collection is preceded by extensive research into the ideal covering to complement their tactile and technological features: edra devises and designs the materials that can be helpful for any project, and then it produces them on an exclusive basis so they will be perfect for its collections

A sofa that allows maximum comfort in whichever position. The key element is the “smart cushion”. Backrests and armrests have lost any stiffness and can be molded as desired with a flick of your hand: low, high, oblique, enveloping and functional. The vast and diverse number of elements - centre and end pieces, corner connections, dormeuse, as well as special end modules with original shapes - trapezium, curved and drop - give structure to an extremely flexible system from a compositional viewpoint: from the simple closed or modular linear sofa, with or without armrests, that can be chosen identical or different, to the more complex compositions with particularly articulated geometries, angular and curved ones, able to interrupt the typical linearity of upholstered furniture with strongly contemporary lines.

The timeless elegance of Grande Soffice recalls classicism, its linear shape ends in soft curves that look like sculptures. Extraordinarily simple. An architecture devised to leave its mark in any setting: it is amazing in its large proportions, and its combination of high-tech and natural materials offers an unexpectedly comfortable experience. It is padded in Gelly Foam and a generous amount of goose down: the result is extreme comfort. The smart cushion allows the backrests to be reclined for ultimate relaxation. Each seating element can comfortably sit two people. A sectional sofa that allows linear or angular composition in many different sizes and shapes. The deeper pieces and the poufs complete the offer, for a more versatile use of the sofa. Francesco Binfaré, designer of Grande Soffice, defines it as follows: "It is a sculpture that fits into people’s houses as a monument or an obelisk or a cathedral fits into the urban space. It is itself an architecture, a primordial, sophisticated nest". The smart cushion is a brand - new concept of relax, it represents years of reflections, studies and technological research.
