The architects began the design of Sharp Cut Workshop by referencing the characteristicly steep roofs by the surrounding historical buildings of the provincial town Eibenstock. The result is a sharp-angular construction body with five differently inclined roof surfaces that evolves from the surrounding environment.

The generous building incisions under big towed roofs mark the accesses of the sculptural whole form. The sculptural construction body creates overhangs that provide protection from snow and rain.
The whole construction body is totally wrapped up in red cedars wooden shingles.
Contrasting to this flakily friable material, the incisions are lined at the side and over head with surfaces to smooth aluminium records. This easy, traditional, but special building skin is reminiscent of a split trunk with external rough, dark bark and an internal, bright and smooth core.
