REVOLT Originally created by Friso Kramer while working at Ahrend in the 1950s, the Revolt Chair has been relaunched by HAY together with Ahrend. One of Friso Kramer’s most famous designs, the Revolt Chair embodies his distinctive minimalist style; a revolutionary design and choice of materials that uses a bent sheet steel frame instead of a traditional tubular frame. Reproduced today using the same process, the chair retains the functionality and resilient construction of its mid-century recursor, but in a sustainable material choice comprising a mix of recycled post-consumer and virgin ABS material in different colour options. A dynamic and f lexible chair, Revolt’s ergonomic design moves with its user, offering active support while working, eating or sitting in conferences. Its comfort, durability and timeless aesthetics make it suitable for using in a wide variety of private, corporate or public spaces. The three-dimensional lightness of the legs, made of metal wires, is in contrast with the seat and back and create a balance between forms and volumes. The slightly curved back enwraps the seat padding and grants a great comfort.

The chair Miss Malice, designed by Studio Arketipo, has a vintage look, especially when covered in leather and it is characterized by thin metal legs. The roundness of the padded seat and back gives a soft and cosy line to the chair.

Oliver fully interprets the classic contemporary value characteristic of the Minotti style code in every setting. Available in different finishes, the tops of this series of tables are available in Calacatta marble, Stone Grey with glossy polyester lacquer finish, Moka open-pore lacquered ash, as well as Arabescato Grigio marble for all sizes and Canaletto walnut stained Dark Brown. The frame of the Oliver Lounge, in Black-Nickel, polished Pewter or Bronze colours, presents a distinctive visual effect, produced by the metal stem that sinuously connects to the base. The support opens up with a slight flaring in the circle of the base, offering a continuous polished surface.

This time the focus of attention is a table designed for the Agnelli home in Rome: Manzù imagined a tabletop mounted on a central support secured to the floor. With the slenderness typical of Eero Saarinen’s designs and the resourcefulness of Pierre Chareau, he styled a base with a sculptural quality that supports a round top, with a central part turning relative to the outer crown where people sit at, so as to provide more effective service to each. The table with central leg by Pio Manzù is the result of a profile rotating around a central axis. The archive drawings show how the profile was designed according to different geometric profiles, which generated a series of shapes with different tensions. Under a mysterious magic spell, a retro-looking school chair is dipped in enchanted golden nectar, which washes away its austerity and crows it with a shiny aureole. Isn't this a typical school-time wish, while looking out of the window and hoping for a fairytale to begin? The Golden Chair got a black framed sister in 2018, and both can be dressed in a selection of fabrics to match different interiors.
