The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) returns fall event programming to the calendar beginning in 2016. In conjunction with the organization’s 60th anniversary, the AIAS will be presenting four AIAS Fall Research Symposium for students in each AIAS Quad. The events are an effort to provide student members with training opportunities centered on designing, funding, performing, and presenting effective research projects. As research represents an important facet of architecture in both the academy and practice, we want to ensure our members obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the profession.
This fall’s events are being co-hosted by four partner universities and their AIAS chapters. The Midwest and South events will be held from October 21st-23rd on campus at the University of Minnesota and the University of Houston respectively. The West and Northeast events will be held from October 28th-30th on campus at Stanford University and Virginia Tech’s Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center respectively.
All events are open to all students in all Quads. The cost to register is $50 for AIAS members and $75 for non-members. Each event begins with a Friday evening keynote and icebreaker, followed by educational sessions and workshops throughout Saturday and ending in the early afternoon on Sunday.
Registration and additional details details will be released at aias.org.
Cost: Members $50 Non-members $75
