The first Grid℠ winter report from G2 Crowd has been released, placing DataCAD as the CAD software delivering the highest overall levels of customer satisfaction.
Using over 180 reviews from industry professionals, the Grid℠ plots software satisfaction levels against market presence (determined by vendor size, market share, and social impact), categorizing products as a "Leader," "High Performer," "Contender," or "Niche." G2 Crowd's review platform encompasses all CAD software widely used within architecture and construction, ranging from BIM to tools and libraries for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural design and construction.
The inaugural results have named Revit and AutoCAD Leaders, providing high customer satisfaction whilst maintaining a strong market presence. Vectorworks Architect, ArchiCAD, and DataCAD were identified as strong performers with an average market presence, characteristics placing them in the High Performers quadrant. Conversely, AutoCAD MEP and AutoCAD Architecture enjoy high market presence whilst providing comparatively low levels of customer satisfaction, marking them as Contenders.
More than 15 software vendors were included in G2 Crowd's "Building Design and BIM" category, with Grid℠ representing only those who received the qualifying number of 10 individual reviews.
Other findings by G2 Crowd reveal that reviewers found their building design and BIM software of choice to meet their requirements at an average rate of 86%, and that 85% of reviewers were likely to recommend their product of choice to others. Reviewers tended to favor characteristics such as "ease of use" and speed and quality of "construction and presentation drawings," prizing software that allowed "a drawing [to] be generated fairly quickly and look great."
G2 Crowd is the "world's leading business software review platform," seeking to "bring authenticity and transparency to business technology research." Used by technology buyers, investors, and analysts, the site collates peer reviews to identify the best software options and encourage improved purchasing decisions.
