Text description provided by the architects. The project is a new convention center at the Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre, designed by architect Vázquez Consuegra, awarded the Technal Aluminium Architecture Prize.
The jury awarded the Work category to this project due to "its urban implantation and clear definition between the different public spaces, especially between exterior and interior. We value the mastery of scale and natural light in a large building, and the intelligent use of different materials and their proper combination in both the parts and the whole. We finally highlight the rigor and craft of the project demonstrated throughout its construction."
This innovative building features a modern architecture which gives it extraordinary luminosity thanks to Technal solutions like the Soleal range, high performance casement windows that suit any project do to their customized design.
These windows as well as the sliding Lumeal doors and the Technal curtain walls were used in the internal facade to ensure the entry of natural light, creating a space for mediation between interior and exterior, between the building and the street, one of the main challenges that the architect wanted to address with this construction.
We have used Soleal doors in all access areas, which are best for places with a large number of people passing through. The center is seamlessly integrated with the existing Fair Park and its local environment, conditioned by a road, the presence of the railway line and the suburban character of the area.
