The RIBA and the Mayor of London's Office has revealed the five shortlisted designs for the new Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) headquarters, set for completion in 2015. The proposed designs, attracting submissions from Foster + Partners, Allies & Morrison, Keith Williams Architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), and Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, will be located in the Whitehall Conservation Area and be renamed back to 'Scotland Yard'.

Roger Harding, director of real estate development for the MPS, said in May that "the competition generated considerable interest with the chance to create a new landmark building for London". According to the RIBA the new headquarters "will involve the redevelopment of the existing and currently unoccupied Curtis Green building located on the Victoria Embankment". Scotland Yard has been relocated many times over the decades with this future move marking "a return to its previous location".
The five proposals are available to view in the Built to Serve exhibition at London's City Hall until the 26th September 2013 (9am to 6pm).
