Sintered Stone Finishes in Zero Emissions House | Lapitec®

Lapitec is an Italian company committed to integrating luxury and sustainability into its products since 1989. Lapitec sintered stone in Nero Antracite was used in the pitched roofs and interior surfaces of the MV House in Veneto, Italy. It is located in the northeastern region of the country, in the natural landscape between Berici and the Euganean Hills near the Venetian Lagoon.

The MV House was designed under the premise of creating a synthesis between a typical rural dwelling and a contemporary housing model, which involves reducing the environmental impact of the house itself and the materials used. It is immersed in a large plot of 5,000 square meters, which is intersected by pathways that delimit the 920 square meter area in which the house sits. The L-shaped house can be read from the exterior thanks to the defined ground floor exterior, covered in large blocks of trachyte, a traditional local stone, which contrasts with the contemporary look of the XXL Lapitec slabs in Nero Antracite that clads the vertical surfaces and the pitched roof.

The interior features a double-height hall that opens into the living and dining areas, as well as the kitchen with selected surfaces clad with a Lapitec sintered store. From the ground floor, a staircase leads to a gallery designed as a lattice truss bridge leading to the sleeping area where the master bedroom has direct access to the spa. The wellness area, which opens onto an outdoor pool, includes a sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi, and sensory shower, all with full-height windows that link the space with the surrounding landscape. The pitched roofs, clad in Lapitec sintered stone slabs measuring 1540 x 3440 mm, form defined geometric shapes. The dark tone of the Nero Antracite slabs contrasts with the wood, trachyte, and white finishes used throughout the house.

Reducing environmental impact was a central aspect of Giorgio Parise’s design. The application of Lapitec's sintered stone on the 30° pitched roof, combined with solar panels, ensures the zero-emission certification and therefore the residence's energy self-sufficiency. The Lapitec sintered stone slabs contribute further to the objective of the design, given its features such as being easy to clean, UV stable, and silica free. Nero Antracite is available in 6 different surface finishes: Lux, Satin, Velluto, Lithos, Vesuvio, and Arena‎. All finishes result from mechanical processing, without the use of printing or synthetic materials
