For decades, Cascade Coil’s architectural systems have been specified for dazzling interior designs. Fabricoil® from Cascade Coil was used in a Northrop Grumman building located in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Northrop Grumman is a global aerospace, defense, and security company focusing on the design and development of some of the world’s most advanced products, including cutting-edge aircraft and spacecraft, cyber security systems, all-seeing radars, and more.
For this location, a range of interior products that met the Northrop Grumman high-performance standard was chosen. A key component to the interior buildout was Cascade Coil’s aluminum 5/16” Fabricoil® mesh in a durable Antique Brass powder-coated finish.
Fabricoil® was used in three unique ways. First, as space dividers that add dimension to the room without sealing off the area. For these systems, the coiled wire fabric is connected to Cascade Coil’s Steel Secura Track, allowing the staff to operate the systems and open up the space when necessary. Fabricoil® was also placed on the interior side of a glass wall. These free-hanging curtains allow light into the room while providing a degree of privacy for meetings within, which is an important consideration for a security and defense company.
Fabricoil® wall coverings were installed in front of interior gypsum walls to give the space an elegant finish. The wall coverings stay in place as a static system. A combination of overhead and cylindrical pendant lights increases the brightness of the fabric panels, effectively eliminating views of the wall behind it.
