"The Age of Megacities: Exploring Global, National and Local Priorities" is the title of the Moscow Urban Forum 2016 which will be held on June 30 – July 03, 2016 in Manege Central Exhibition Hall.
Since 2011 the Moscow Urban Forum is an important international platform devoted to development of megacities, improvement of the quality of life of urban residents in the world, Russia and Moscow.
The Moscow Urban Forum in 2016 will discuss the era of a megacity, its global, national and local priorities with an emphasis on the global agenda and global trends in development of megacities. Specific features of the event are the presence of an international partner city, presentations of projects of global and Russian cities, special sessions for discussing city rankings and city branding and extended exhibition formats.

The Forum is traditionally held under the aegis of the Moscow Government (with the personal participation of Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow). This year the event will gather in its venue over 15,000 people (including participants of the Festival): representatives of legislative and executive authorities, the business community, developers and construction companies, the world’s leading architects, experts in urbanism and urban planning, as well as private citizens.
The Festival is the special open programme of the Moscow Urban Forum that comprises a logical continuation of the business programme. It is a platform for meetings between all those who care about urban development, where residents of the Russian capital and a large number of experts will be involved in debate regarding the most important issues. Urban activists will present their initiatives, and expert sociologists, economists and architects will share their visions of the future of cities for discussion.
