Marronnier park couldn't positioned between 'neighborhood park' and 'public area' before. Until now, every ruins of desire is accumulated, for instance functions, facilities and sculptures that doesn't harmonized each other. Therefore we started to make a plan to discover the value of public area in Marronnier park. First, we tried to sort and clean up the ruins of desire. Second, we tried to make a public area that shows character and quality of Campus street Culture zone. Third, we tried to make Marronnier park as a famous place in the city.

Master Plan

To achieve these goals, we developed Marronnier park build up plan. First, minimize of facilities. Clean up the improper facilities and just remain an outdoor theater, information center and toilet. Because of the clean up process, the park will be shown as a neat place and will give a simple message 'this is a park' clearly.

Third, maxmize of area. Even if this area surrounded by museum, theater and the main building of culture and art committee, this area doesn't look like a courtyard place because of the land register line. So we redesigned and extended the pavement up to the street. we expect many events will be opened in the park, and people will enjoy it on the street and in the park as well.

Fourth, Use of voronoi diagram. Voronoi diagram is made by Russian mathematician Voronoi. This diagram can explain nature phenomenon and structure of space. We use this diagram in digital space for create a mechanism that starts from the trees to the whole park area.
