Text description provided by the architects. With this project, 4D-Arquitetura was awardedat the 6o Grande Prêmio de Arquitetura Corporativa (6th Corporative Architecture Grand Prix ) on executed Industrial Plants and Distribution Centers.
The Bortolini Móveis invested in expanding its production capacity with the construction of a new factory in the town of Garibaldi. This project is based on several volumetric differences and in the contrast of the exposed concrete cast on site with materials as stone and wood.
The project of 18 thousand square meters of built space has administrative area, sales, showroom, production and leisure. To focus the integration and the flexibility of the administrative area environment, it has been adopted a three volume party with distinctive functional caracteristics: public service with reception, showroom and auditorium and a space for the employee use. Over this two wings, rests a third volume to house the administrative areas that bind to the interior of the pavilion by a mezzanine. Together, these areas accounts 1800 square meters.
The production pavillion occupies the largest area of the land, with 16000 m2. Designed in pre-shaped metallic structure, this wing was build over a flat platform that allows easy access to load and unload and the circulation of maintenance on its perimeter. In the lower level of the land was implemented the sports facilities and the ballroom.
Not only the usability and esthetic concerns directed the conception of this project. Sustainable elements as the natural lightning and ventilation at the administrative area and in the industrial pavilion are some of the highlights on this matter. Photovoltaic cells in all outdoor lightning, vegetation cover to provide better indoor thermal comfort and rainwater recycling for green areas irrigation, completes its package.
